I successfully installed Windows 10 on my mid-2007 iMac running 10.11. As you may know, BCA cannot be used for this -- I did it by creating the partition then booting from a retail Windows 10 DVD, and had no problem with the installation. Win10 is running fine.

There is a reason that BC Assistant does not support W10 on a 2007 model.

The problem is I can't install the Apple drivers -- the installer (created on a USB stick using BCA from 10.11) gives me the message 'Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model'. I also can't find a way to tell it to boot to the Windows partition by default on startup. Any suggestions on either issue?

Step 2: After downloading the Boot Camp drivers, open up the BootCamp folder and then run the Setup.exe located in that folder. NOTE: If you have downloaded Boot Camp drivers to a USB drive, then the path to the setup file would be: F:BootCampSetup.exe. Where “F” is the drive letter of the USB drive. Step 3: Click the Repair button to install missing files and repair damaged Boot Camp. When the computer is restarting, make sure you have connected the bootable windows usb and hold the alt key to bring up the boot menu, Select the bootable usb, It should show up as EFI BOOT or so. Once on the windows setup screen, do not click on install, instead press shift+F10 to bring up the command prompt. This USB drive will be formatted so make sure that all its contents are backed up. Launch the Disk Utility, select the USB drive from the list, then press Erase on the top of the window and make sure MS-DOS (FAT) format is selected. Then click Erase button to start the process. Once formatting is complete, launch Boot Camp assistant.

This is precisely the reason W10 is unsupported on your model.

If you must have W10 on a 2011 or older Mac, the correct method is to install W7/W8.1 and get the proper drivers in place, and then in-place upgrade to W10. The in-place upgrade grandfathers the W7/W8.1 drivers to work under W10.

There are no W10 drivers for your Model. You can either use the generic WHQL drivers, which as you have noticed, do not work or follow the suggested method. Be aware that there is no supported mechanism for repairing W10 on your model, if it malfunctions.

Double-click Setup.exe:

Bootcamp Usb Drive Cannot Be Used

'Boot Camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model'

Double-click BootCamp64.msi:

'This installation requires elevated privileges. Launch the installer through setup.exe.'

Run BootCamp64.msi from an elevated command prompt:

'This version of Boot Camp is not intended for this computer model.'

So what gives? You need to pass the NOCHECK=1 option to the MSI.

I've seen guides recommending modification of the MSI files or other old information that did not work for me.

Husqvarna blower 125bt parts. Open an elevated command prompt (click Start, type 'cmd', then right-click and run as Administrator), go to the the BootCampDriversApple directory, then run this:

msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi NOCHECK=1

I was able to install Boot Camp (and its drivers) under x64 Windows 7 on my 2007 Mac Pro (macpro2,1) this way.

Note that this is not required for all versions of Boot Camp. It was needed for version 4.0.4255, but not version 4.0.4033.
